If you live in Bethany, Branford, Cheshire, East Haven, Fairfield, Guilford, Hamden, Madison, Milford, New Haven, North Branford, North Haven, Orange, Wallingford, West Haven and Woodbridge you can bring your household hazardous waste to HazWaste Central on Saturday mornings only, from 9:00 a.m. until noon, from mid-May through the end of October.

Unacceptable materials are 55-gallon drums of otherwise acceptable liquids like waste oil, and anti-freeze, latex paint, empty containers, including aerosol cans, explosives, including road and boat flares, ammunition, fire extinguishers, asbestos roofing, shingling, flooring, wallboard and pipe wrap, radioactive materials, pathological waste, including syringes, PCB's, waste generated by commercial, industrial, institutional or municipal sources, controlled substances, narcotics and prescription medicines and tires.
